OK so I must be pretty dim but I cannot for the life of work out how to attach the works headlamp bar to Kate's car. I've had the bumper off and the grille out but I just can't make head nor tailof it. Help !! Does it just sit above the bumper with the bar going over it ? or what ??
And while we're about it how do the grille buttons fit ? They obviously fit through some supporting member and then feed through the grille but to where are they supposed to attach?
When you've all stopped laughing perhaps you could offer some advice.

I assume you have the mounting brackets? As far as I can remember the light bar fits (bolts) to the front valence - just above the bumper there is a little lip that protrudes from the bottom edge of the grille, thats where they go. Some cars (usually later ones) have the holes pre-drilled in the valence and have rubber bungs in, if you do not you'll have to crack open the power tools!
I'm afraid I can't help with the grille buttons, I can never work out what they attach to, behing my grille there only seems to be one support bar?!?!

Ok..yes I have the fitting kit...so does the bumper come off, the bar go on after but if that's the case where does the vertical bar from the lamp bar go ? under the bumper or over ?
I'm glad someone else can't work ou the grille buttons !!

think there should be two holes in the valance and the vertical bar goes under the bumper from what Ive seen on other minis (not mine)

Grille buttons: Right picture below see where the grille would go there at the side there is to panel as such you drill through there.

So line the grille up and drill in the right place through both parts. Then stick the bolt through the front body from behind with a nut already screwed on. Then put another bolt on the other side so now you have a nut either side of the panel. You then use this to adjust the nut so it just pokes through the grille. Stick on the grille wack on the rubber sleaves add the grille buttons screw on job done.
Now the lamp bar there are a few of these and they fit slightly different so have you a picture of it i can then advise you a lot better.

Thanks, Faz that's excellent. Unfortunately my home PC won't log me on to the club site so....I'll have to email a picture to myself at work and then see if I can do it from there !! That's AOL for you.
The bar is from Minispeed and is the very expensive (hmm) works bar - sort of boomerang shaped with a central descending bar that looks like it should fit over the bumper. If I recall there are some holes in the valence which might match up. I'll have another look at the weekend.

Wel, at last the penny dropped and the fitting couldn't have been easier. All I needed to do was remove the number plate and it was bloody obvious how it fitted.
Grille buttons needed moving 'cos they ended up right behind the outer headlights..............doh !!!!!!!!!!
Looks great and now all I need to do is get them wired in. I know my limitations.
