View Full Version : CRUNCH time
Hi all
Well, things are getting rather exciting for me now as i'm finally going to be viewing a mini IN PERSON :D
That other one i was raving on about for a while unfortunately got sold to some other lucky bugger but OH WELL.
Odd thing really, this new one has a tuned 1380 swop + all the buckets and rollcage and brakes and suspension and what have you etc etc... BUT the insurance quote is less than the 1275 by 200quid  (everything declared). Well I'M NOT COMPLAINING!
I will let you all know how this one goes, wish me luck :)

the 1275 was a cooper and this one not I guess but still surprised its cheaper with a rollcage and 1380cc
I suppose we'll just have to wait and see what comes of it.
I'm pretty sure the 1275 wasn't a cooper, but it did have an awful lot of work done to it (apparently it was putting out 83hp @ the wheels which is quite impressive!)
Anyway, i'm leaving in half an hour :D
Just think, I could be a fellow mini owner in a couple of hours :p
FINGERS CROSSED!!!!

If it's alright with you lot, I may have to pop along to 1 of your meets, just as soon as my exams are over (week after next) to introduce myself and "insert mini name here  ". I look forward to meeting you all!

so you got the 1380 mini ? any pics ?
where abouts in Brighton are you?
the next meeting is the second tuesday in Feb although a quite a few of us are having a meeting this Friday at the Swan Falmer Village to discuss the BMC show I'm sure you could drop at the start for a while around 730 to show us your car
Yes it's the 1380, and although i wasn't able to drive the thing myself, my dad did all the test driving and very torquey (spelling?) it is 2!!
Structurally the car seemed sound and theres only really some bubbles of rust in the usual places, but hopefully a weekend of work will be able to sort tht :)
I'm hoping any other problems there may be will be spotted out by you lot in the future :p
Unfortunately, I work on friday nights til 10 (it's hell for my social life), so it'll have to be the 2nd week of feb :( Unless of course any other dates pop up in which case i'll try my best to turn up :)
As for pictures, unfortunately, in the heat of the moment i forgot to take any! All that excitement you see.

Congrats on your purchase.
Thanks all!
I can't wait to actually drive the thing lol. I'll probably be stalling at every traffic light in Hove for the next week or so...
The name will be a problem, i'll brainstorm some ideas but maybe some of you have a couple already :D
Also, in answer to a previous question I didn't see, i'm in Hove just up from PC World (Holmes Avenue).
