I've only had a go at a couple of games in the arcade, But I've just come on here now to have a look and probably a play on some others. It's distracting to say the least, lol
Who wants new games? Time for a change?

w00t - we want new games
PLEASE NOTE
The comittee has decided that with immediate effect, that the gallery shall now be available to club members only.
This is not a snub on non members, but simply to allow those paying members to enjoy the benefits of membership, without feeling that others are getting the same benfits for free. This site is operated at the expense of the club, and the extra bandwidth created by visitors who visit only to play the games is costing the club money, something the club cannot afford, so, until further notice the arcade will only be available to registered, paying club members.
Btw, have just added 10 new games, so join the club and get playing :)

So If YOU CAN'T BEAT UM BAN UM .VERY SPORTING.
oh dear, it was only a matter of time before someone posted a message like ths.
No ones BANNED from the arcade for christs sake, do us all a favour and read the post on the previous page before spouting off remarks like that. I saddens me to think that there are still people out there who feel its thier god-given right to have access to absolutely everything on the net regardless of whether it costs the people who host it money or not.
How would YOU feel if you paid to be a member of a club and there were others who got the same benefits and paying squat-didley? Yeah, exactly. It wouldnt be so bad either, if a fraction of those who registered JUST to play the games would actually take a few minutes and CONTRIBUTE to the forums.
Rant over.

here here ....well spoken mike and as u say its not the fact of "wining" its the taking part and playing and paying u cant go into an arcade in brighton and play all there games 4 three can u .... if its such a major issue set one up on your edmc website.... not that hard is it to have fun [by the way im not bitching] but i feel the commitee club made a correct choice

I can't make this Tuesdays meeting but dont mind contributing something to the upkeep of the forums (no interest in the games though)... how can i contribute towards the costs of the forum ?

The answer to this question is bandwith when you open a page on a website you are downloading that webpage. So if you go on a website loads you are using up there bandwith the available downloads. For our site this was becoming expensive and would have been in the region of £200 a year, plus the name and pograms for the site. So as you can see this would not be an acceptable way to spend our members money. So yes it would have been great to keep it open to everyone but as you know you want to keep membership costs down. So this was the only fair way for our members and was in no way a selfish or malicious act on our part. So please can you refrain from putting up comments like that as i hoped we had a great relationship and will continue to do so:p .

You dont have to be a member of the club to use the forum, and we dont expect, nor will we ask people to join the club to use the forums either. You are already contributing to the site simply by posting messages and threads etc and this takes very little bandwidth.
The arcade however is different, it was getting so busy, that it was eating up the bandwidth available to the site and costing money as the site is attracting more and more members, some spend all the time just playing games and not posting messages. This site has attracted more and more traffic since its re-launch last november. Back then we were getting around 30,000 hits a month, since then its climbed quickly and August just topped 280,000 hits in a month. The games were also being played an average of 13,000 times a month, and thats what was using up the bandwidth.
Anyway, you dont NEED to give money to the club to use the forums, but we'd obviously encourage to come along to a meet one day and become a fully fledged member, then you can play games as much as you want lol
Its a perk of membership :)

This matter, along with general membership matters has caused a lot of heartache and discussion recently. Whatever is decided is not going to please everyone but any decisions made are made for the long term good of the entire club and its members. If you can come to a meet soon you'll hear all about the new membership package that has been designed. Info will be on this site once it has all been explained to members at the meet. Hopefully people will want to join the club as a whole and get the complete mini experience, including joining us for fun days out, cruises, games, meets and full access to the website.

On the current rules you need to have joined up for three months to get members privileges, including arcade, members area of forum, discounts with insurers, shops etc. So sorry Kieran - not at the moment!
The arcade will be offline until they release the new version thats compatible witht the new forum software, then we shall get some new games up too :)

Mike can you add game from anywhere then ??? I have found some good strategy games produced by the UN - relating to the 3rd world, food , floods etc
just had a peek, and that game needs to be installed on the your pc. The games we can use are called flash games. If you have google around for 'v3arcade' or 'ibProArcade' games - these we can use.
