Whats happened to my wipers?!

well got in car this morning, all fine until i deceded to wash my window-so i switch on wipers onto '1 click' -1st speed, all going well until i deceide its clean and flick the stalk off....but apparently my wipers dont!-they just keep goin!-well eventually i manage to get them to stop after much bashing about! lol -now ive just discovered if i push the stalk down for a 'quick wipe' if u let go it gets stuck and doesnt automaticly reset!:confused: What the heck!?!

As steve said maybe you need new arms but it is probably the self parkon the wiper motor that is making it not self park so change both and all should be ok.

If the self-park thingy had gone surely they would stop but wherever you turned them off and not return to the bottom themselves?

sounds like the switch contacts on the stalks, take the steering column shroud off and have a look at the copper contacts, they may stay in contact even if you have switched the wipers off.
You might find bending the contacts a bit works, but disconnect the battery first,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, been there,,,,,,,, done that
