View Full Version : Locking wheels nuts..no key..and brakes that don't.

Tango's brakes - well they don't. I suspect the master cylinder but before I got to the expense of replacing it thought I would check all the corners first for leakage or worn pads/shoes etc.

BUT he has locking wheels nuts and I have no key! Ideas people?

Also does anyone know the best master to use with S calipers up front?

well I always keeep my locking wheel nut key in the car - surely they havent taken it out and lost it? What style of locking nut are they?

Worst case is break them off.
I had the same problem with shorty when i first got it,
i jacked him up, undid the three wheelnuts,
leaving the locking one at the bottom,
and pulled the top of the wheel hard,
then i put new wheel studs in

I had a really good poke around the car (me oh my I must clean the inside, it smells of dead people) and didn't find it. Fingers crossed it wasn't passed over last time it was sold.

Not to sure how to describe them, they look like nuts but have little half circles
missing out of the flats, I'll try to get a photo tomorrow.
