Hi all

On my Mk3(1971) mini I have notice I haven't got a pressure regulating valve fitted to the single line brake system, just a 3-way connector. My question is do I need to buy a valve (from what I've seen not cheap) or can I leave the 3-way connector where it is.

Cheers

If the brakes work fine then there is no need to fit one.

The valve reduces the pressure to the rear brakes enough to stop them locking up under heavy braking when the weight is transfered forward. The same reduction in rear braking ability can be achieved by fitting different 'bore' (diameter) rear brake cylinders.

YOU WILL HAVE A LITTLE PRESSURE REDUCING VALVE ON THE REAR SUBFRAME WHERE THE BRAKE LINE SPLITS INTO TWO, TO THE REAR DRUMS.
