Hi all.
Just cut out the old floor of ickle pickle(the wife named her) and put in the new one but am not sure if the pan should be welded from inside or out. To explain a bit more, the pan has a lip front and back my mate thinks it should be inside the car but i think it should be welded from outside. what do you all think.
cheers

Having spent the day welding Harrys floor, i can say for definate
that the floor tucks INSIDE at the front and rear edges
If you look at the latest pics of harry, you can see the edge
of the heal board on the outside of the floor, hope this helps

Hi Darren

I do see what you are saying. but with ickle pickle the floor pan seems to fit better outside than in, do you think it matters either way ?

If its on the outside you might have problems getting the rear subframe back in strait

yes agreed best off inside the car .. as although it may seem to fit better on the outside and seem easier to weld ... it will be tidier inside and make it easier to get the sub frame right

do see your point. not sure what to do now. as the floor was so rotten I had to cut it right up to the mounting panel so haven't got that lip anymore.

actually this thread gives you a better view of the welding - from inside not outside

the panel under the rear seat, think its called the heel board.

you mean youve cut out the heel board?

If so I think you should wled in a new heel board before the floor pan... or have I misunderstood you?

The heel board is still there, just the lip that folds over the floor pan is missing.
I will get the wife to take some picture's of the problem. watch this thread...
