Minor thing....
The lights seem to be getting dimmer as i drive along and a little while are next to not there. Ive got a brand new battery in so that cant be the problem.
Any ideas?
I'm currently bound to the house by dark!!

if lights are getting dimmer but the battery isnt losing charge - eg your not struggling to start the engine after driving with the lights on then I think it has to be a loose connection rather than the alternator or the battery and perhaps you are losing main beams and just driving on side lights at times ???

Sounds like an alternator problem, start by checking your fan belt,
if that's ok then get a multimeter on the battery, you should get about 14v with the engine running,
but it should stay above 12v when you put the lights, heater fan and rear screen demist on

Thats exactly what happened to mine. I lost all electrical power a few times, but it started with dimming lights and a slight misfire as the battery drained away..... the last time it happened i was just coming off the M11 to go into some services! Changed the alternator in Cambridge and have never had a problem since

That's what was happening with Bernie... I suggested the altenator and was told unless the lights dim when you rev it... it's not.... What the hell? :(
