Hi all, my lights are getting very dim now, and they are sealed units.
So i am thinking about getting angel eye lights.

Are they legal? And are the bulbs easy to replace if they go.
Also are they easy to fit?

Cheers

Glenn:rolleyes:

xenon are much brighter...

although they should be kite or E marked I dont think any MOT inspector is ever going to look on the back of them to see if they are kite or E marked... just make sure your side lights arent blue and that they are aligned at the right angle

I thought that they were NOT road legal. I know of a few people in the past that failed an MOT with them, because of the lit up surround I think.

No ive done some more research and they are not road legal unless E-marked. But there is nothing stopping me putting the sealed beam back in for the MOT next month

Steve (or anyone else with them) did you have to cut the plastic bowl from the original lights to put them on the angel eye lights.

Re-wiring was the easy part but putting the actual lights on is the hard part:LOL:

Well i tried putting the new lights in and they wont seem to fix on without the oringal bowl so i guess ill have to cut it down tomorrow, where did you get yours from?

Which is fine until you have an accident or hit a dozy pedestrian and an eagle eyed plod decides to have a closer look as your lights look 'funny' - which is when you wish you'd made sure there was a nice European E marking someplace on the lamps.....

'an i think the MOT failure is due to the coloured surround - shouldn't have any probs if you don't use the coloured sleeves that come with the kit - incidentally, as TC alluded to earlier, i believe their use is actually an offence under the road traffic act - i believe the actual wording is 'failure to display a white light' - that's what the boys in blue always use to sting those of us on two wheels for when using the coloured headlight covers anyhow.
