View Full Version : Mini shopping!

Am thinking (just thinking at the moment!) of looking at L2B for a mini to customise. Am just wanting to do cosmetic customisation rather than mechanical so I just want a 1.3l engine & solid body. I don't want to customise Betsy as she's a special edition & it would feel like I would be spoiling her, but am getting itchy for 'the purple peril!'
So if people could have a look out at L2B for a reasonable mini (or one too good to refuse) I'd be really grateful! Sensible prices only! Obviously if anyone sees one elsewhere I'd be grateful too.
Would prefer a roundnose to a clubby, but that's just my personal preference & no disrespect to clubmans is meant at all! :)
theres rumour of a 1430cc thats could be up for sale soon. :)

ooooh that's a bit of a beast...bet it'll be too expensive for me though :(
prob around £3000, but could be wrong. Its a hellava fast car tbh, full 1430 MED build, Weber 45, Aldon dizzy, everything straight cut, fibreglass flip front, full rollcage, the list goes on. Its a real pocket rocket.

Helen, why don't you nick James' car to customise - he might not notice!!!!!!!
LOL - not really James, Gloria is lovely, but it is a shame for her to be sitting on the side of the road not being driven! When's the test?

Does it have to be a 1.3 as i know someone who may have a mini ideal for wat you want. The other thing is how much do you want to spend that way i can look at the right cars for you. I am also always getting emails about cars being for sale so will pass on details to you.

Ideally I want a car with a bit more oomph than Betsy has...I know I could put a 1.3l engine in myself but I'd rather get a car that's already there! The amount I have to spend depends partly on what I can get for Betsy if I do sell her

Don't forget to look out for any 'not to be missed' bargains at L2B...think of it like I'm buying one for the club lol
James doesn't think you'll understand what I mean...had a few glasses of wine & I know what I mean!

I'm not knocking Betsy, I love her to bits, but am just getting the itch to customise & I don't want to do that to a limited edition :D

neither of us ended up looking for one, too pissed off with the weather to be out in it looking, I was in it now and then mostly to watch the go kart run and pit stop challange but didn't want to be going up and down in it. only saw one for sale in between the stand and the arena

I saw a few for sale, but most were pretty expensive for what they were...I think people bump up the prices because it's L2B ...oh well I'm not in any hurry.
Incidentally, if you want to respray a car, does it matter what colour it was before?

Incidentally, if you want to respray a car, does it matter what colour it was before?not relly no but if you spray the car the same colour then the in side doesent have to be done all the time but if you change it you do

You have to notify the DVLA of the change if you change the colour as well. Some colours need more preparation work - like red gloss colour.
