How much did you want for the perspex rear quarter windows? I was thinking of putting them in my fibreglass Minus project. Are they A1 condition? Are you going to this autotest this PM? Pat

would the "Unused pre verto clutch kit" fit into a metro engine????

im not sure what a pre verto clutch is?

and would the "Maestro 1275 A+ head" make much diffrence from a standard one?

Hi guys .
To answer all questions ,

Pat ......Barbara has the perspex windows .

Bryn ...I have no second hand panels.. Yes I have, got a boot lid and bonnet just taken off my Studio 2 . Painted original colour of Nordic blue Mettalic. Bonnet in reasonable condition with bonnet stay £15. Boot lid £10 light rust on part of inner bottom edge only seen when lid open . Will shot blast ok. Respraying the car this week with the aim of showing it , using new bonnet and bootlid .

The new pattern, slightly rusty bonnet is now sold.

Bernadillo...For arguments sake and without looking it up to be 100% take it that all Metros and Minis from 1982 I think are all verto. Although I may be wrong. Please advise If you know differant. They cannot be mixed and matched. The starters are also differant .

...The Maestro head will fit a 1275 Mini or Metro. If fitting to a 998 the block will need machining to except the head.
Regarding the performance potential of the A series Maestro head I have not measured the valves to see what size they are . Would guess they are mg size giving the thing a bit more go to lug the bigger Maestro body around Have a look in David Vizards Tuning the A Series big yellow book . Sure its got standard valve sizes in there for all A Series vehicle applications.

Other than a spare I am keeping I only have a used Cooper grille currently attatched to my pick up . I cannot get at it due to building materials pinning front of pick up close to a wall in garage . Will be moving pick up next week . Will see if you still want it by then .
I do have a brand new Minispares mk1 wavy grille. Cost £58.70 plus post, see Minispares ads to confirm. Want £45.

Thanks for you enquiries .

Dave

PS: Stephen from EDMC wants a standard 7.5 gallon fuel tank. Its the larger size fuel tank fitted from 1974. Anyone? See edmc forum wanted section .

Dave, Pat says thanks for the windows. Very interested in the wavy mk1 grille, do you know if it's chromed or galvanised? You don't have the surround as well do you?

how much do u want for the clutch? i havent put the metro engine in yet so the clutch is accessable, ive decided to get a new one because i dont know what condition the current one is in, if it is easy to switch to a "pre verto" and u have a good offer on the clutch then i will go for it...is there a diffence in performance between the verto and non verto? and will any other parts be needed to switch?

also...do u have a drivers door in good condition?

also...how much is the Maestro head going for?

Michelle the grill is stainless I believe . I do not have a surround . Best quality at best price for the surround would be from the minispares stand at London to Brighton.

to be honest its a bit of messing about ( easy messing about) swapping from verto to pre verto just to save a few quid on the clutch.
You will need the pre verto slave cylinder, clutch release arm , plunger , clutch and possibly the flywheel . If you change the flywheel you will need to make sure the flywheel ring gear has 129 teeth , otherwise you will need to fit the earlier starter motor as well. If you do not the starter will jam up . Found that out the hard way , lol.
Will have a good look thursday see if i have a verto kit.
Both the clutch kit and head are £25 each .
Apologies if I do not get back to you for a few days as will be on Riviera Run, back tuesday.

There is also quite a big difference in price of new clutch kits , non verto are far cheaper.
