if they are the plastic ones they often melt, stick together over time....u should just be able to push them together and twist (same idea as a bayonett lightbulb) (standard lightbulbs) if they have become so they cant be undone, then u can always cut the wires going into the fuse holder and put an inline plastic fuse there... it may not be the fuse tho... check the flasher unit which is a silvery box shape thing on the drivers side of the interior...some minis have them behind the dashboard on the right of the steering wheel others are on the right side in the footwell (often hiden) if u wiggle this around a bit and it makes a difference then its probably best to renew it... i will try and get some pics for you

You say you have hazzards and they all work yes? then the fuse holders behind the air filter must be ok. Next do your brake lights work as they share the same fuse as the the indicators. This is the top one located at the top of the main fuse box if not change it it is a 35 amp one. What you need to do next if not is check the indicator flasher unit behind the dash. Stick your hand up from the bottom and you should be able to find it and change it. If after all this it doesn't work come back to me.

If you want one that will work properly get a ford one (halfords carton #204) It will have 3 pins on though not 2, get a bit of wire and connect it to the '31' connector on the flasher and earth it (wind it round a screw behind the dashboard or something) then connect the two wires from the mini to the remaining two connectors on the flasher. Just done this in my car and it's 100% better than the mini ones! It ticks loudly, and stays at the same speed - I found mini ones tend to slow down and do stupid things!

How much for the Calibra ? and how much would it cost to get your old faithful mini running smoothly again ?
Blue_Bitch
16-09-2006, 10:17 PM
£1450.......... not sure on how much mini would cost yet in 4 its mot tues hell.................... i just need a reliable little run around 4 work as i dont think the mini will do me any favours come winter time ????
Tommy Cooper
16-09-2006, 10:21 PM
yes but I was thinking what £1450 would do for your mini if spent mechanically and not cosmetically :D
Tommy Cooper literally became a money pit on Friday.. I bought petrol at Asda and it was carnage with pumps closed and only one cahier and with 10 cars all racing to the one pay here window... I put my visa card on the dash and nipped off.. the next day I realised it wasnt in my wallet, couldnt find it in the house or in the car.. then I saw a gap next to the speedo and a pencil with further investigation and a torch I found my credit card ... Tommy was trying to eat my money !
Blue_Bitch
16-09-2006, 10:28 PM
oh no mini needs no where that amount spent on it the cosmetic side of mini has been done by porsche inside and out but as i say i need a very reliable motor 4 work but as i say i will try and keep beast
Tommy Cooper
16-09-2006, 10:38 PM
yes I meant wouldnt spending £1450, or a fraction of that, make The Beast a lot more reliable for the winter
Blue_Bitch
16-09-2006, 10:48 PM
i dont think so ... the mini hates the wet as in most minis......i was so lucky 2 get home the other nite in the storm, first time ever i prayed  but as already said beast was a good boy .. unusal 4 a male hehehe lol .he got me home ....luv him really but cant stress enough work no car no wage:( :(
