Steve Irwin walks into a bar with his pet crocodile by his side.
He puts the croc up on the bar. He then turns to the astonished patrons and says:
"I'll make you a deal. I'll open this croc's mouth and place my genitalia inside. Then the croc will close his mouth for one minute. Then he'll open his mouth and I'll remove my genitalia unscathed. In return for witnessing this spectacle, each of you will buy me a drink."
The crowd murmured in unanimous approval.
Steve stood up on the bar, dropped his trousers, and placed his privates in the crocodile's open mouth. The croc closed his mouth as the crowd gasped. After a minute, Irwin grabbed a beer bottle and smacked the croc hard on the top of its head. The croc opened his mouth and he removed his genitals unscathed as promised. The crowd cheered and the first of his free drinks were delivered.
Steve stood up again and made another offer. "I'll pay anyone $100 who's willing to give it a try."
A hush fell over the crowd. After a while, a hand went up in the back of the bar.
A blonde woman timidly spoke up...
"I'll try it! Just don't hit me too hard with the beer bottle."

Yeah, very sad news. He was a great guy who done a lot for the conservation of wildlife in Australia as well as making millons of others aware of it through his TV shows as well as being one of the greatest characters on TV. Truely a sad loss - RIP Steve.

I found him entertaining but he was more stuntman than wildlife warden!
Not sure what he was doing using his kids as bait for the crocs, they may have been fairly safe but crazy people copy crazy stunts and its unacceptable to use young kids as entertainment - use rabbits instead at least they could run away from the croc

Although the original "joke" part of this thread was funny, I for one am really upset by this news. I was lucky enough to have a letter and photo from him that he sent me for a charity auction I organised a couple of years back, it was a lovely and personal letter. Unfortunately for me I enclosed it with the signed photo when the auction was done as authenticity. I believe he was a great conservationist and made documentaries fun and entertaining bringing in a whole new audience. My kids loved his shows and we will all miss his style of education in the future. I feel greatly for his family.

Thing is he was a great enviromentalist but i think he was also a camera junky and always had to push things that bit further for the cameras. Now i am not saying he wasn't a great bloke but if you play with fire you get burnt and unfortunately for him he did.
